The key word in Lu Yao's novels is"intersection zone",which refers to the small and medium-sized cities at the town,county and district levels in northern Shaanxi Province and the countryside surrounding these towns.People living in this special area have their own survival suffering,confusion and rationality;suffering comes from life and spirit,confusion comes from the balance of rationality and emotion,and rationality comes from making choices between cities and villages.This is what Lu Yao has entrusted to them,which is his idea of creating local novels.
