The traditional marriage custom of the Hakka in West Fujian is in the same line with that of the Han nationality,which has the characteristics of region,openness and era.These characteristics not only restrict the reforming process of marriage custom,but also provide the possibility for reforms.In history,the government and the people have been exerting influences on all aspects of marriage custom,which makes it evolve and develop continuously.In the new era,we must give full play to the role of folklore experts in studying the history and current situation of marriage custom.In terms of system,organization,education and publicity,the relevant departments of the government should intensify their efforts to curb the bad atmosphere,improve the effects of changing custom,accelerate the formation of civilized marriage custom and promote the construction of modern civilization.
