Coaches involved in helping,prevention and early intervention may help support young people’s mental health. The purpose of this study is to examine how coaches’ mental health literacy and role cognition are associated with their participation in these behaviors in the physical environment,including self-reporting indicators of mental health literacy associated with depression,and examine the metrics of role cognition( i. e. role breadth and role efficacy) and participate in prevention,promotion and early intervention. The results of the three path analysis shows that mental health literacy is not directly related to any help behavior in the context of sports literacy,but it has significant indirect effects on promotion,prevention and early intervention through role breadth and role effectiveness. By developing their knowledge,abilities,and beliefs,these actions become part of the expected role of the role,enabling the coach to participate in these help actions,providing young people with alternative and informal sources of initial support.In summary,the study investigates the coach’s mental health literacy,their role perception,and how these factors influence the coach’s involvement in supporting young people’s mental health. The results show that cultivating the coach’s knowledge,abilities and beliefs allows them to participate in these behaviors in the sports environment.
