A Corpus-based Analysis of Public Opinion to the “Belt and Road” Initiative Represented by the Indian English Newspapers

使用语料库方法,以印度有关“一带一路”倡议的英语新闻报道作为研究样本,分析“一带一路”在印度的舆情呈现及其原因。研究发现,印度媒体对“一带一路”倡议的关注度随着中印两国关系的变化而变化,涉“一带一路”舆论总体呈负面,多数新闻报道认为“一带一路”有中国地缘政治的目的。

Based on the coverage of the“Belt and Road”Initiative(referred to herein as BRI)in the Indian English news,this paper analyzes the public opinion presentation of the BRI in India and its reasons using the corpus method.The study found that the Indian media’s attention to the BRI changed with the changes in China-India relations.Public opinion on the BRI has generally been negative.Most reports believe that the BRI has the purpose of Chinese geopolitics.
