摘要
思辨能力是指通过诠释、分析、评估和推论对事物做出果断而合理的判断,并能给出该判断的依据,从证据、概念、方法、标准等方面进行解释。写作本就是一项通过语言来展示思维的活动,是不断思考和发现的过程(Hedge,2002)。然而,国内有关测量高中生英语写作中思辨能力表现的研究还相对较少,陈则航等人于2018年在外语教学与研究出版社出版的《英语写作中的思辨能力表现研究》一书为该领域研究提供了理论框架和实证基础。该书以实证研究为研究方法,对北京市各类学校的700余名高中学生的思辨技能表现进行了调查,揭示了高中学生思辨能力处于中等水平,并重点研究了不同因素影响下思辨能力的表现情况。本文简要评述该书的主要内容及特点,同时提出阅读建议和改进之处。
Critical thinking refers to the ability to make a decisive and reasonable judgement through interpretation,analysis,evaluation and reference,to give the basis for the judgement,and to explain it from aspects of evidence,concepts,methods,standards,etc.Writing is exactly an activity to demonstrate thoughts through a language as well as a process of constant thinking and discovering(Hedge,2002).However,there are few studies on measuring senior high students’performance of critical thinking in writing.The Study Focused on Performance of Critical Thinking in English Writing(Chen Zehang et al.,2018)published by Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press,provides a theoretical framework and empirical studies,which investigates more than 700 students of different senior high schools in Beijing.The book uncovers that the senior high students’critical thinking abilities are at the medium level.Also,it focuses on the performance of critical thinking ability under the influence of various factors.This article reviews the book and puts forward suggestions to the readers and for the improvement of this book.
