Perilla frutescens is one of herb riches in nutrients has the effects of clearing the lungs,moistening the lungs,and anti-inflammatory.In livestock production,Perilla frutescens and its extracts are added to the diet to increase livestock productivity and quality of livestock and poultry products.This paper mainly introduces the main components and biological functions of Perilla frutescens,and reviewed its application in livestock production.
