Artistic Representation of Granaries in Han China:A Critical Review

汉代粮仓艺术表现以其材料的丰富性成为学界一直以来的关注要点。各人文学科对这批材料表现形式及背后的社会现象及丧葬礼俗的研究,都推动了对于汉代农耕文明的认识。在新的观点不断出现的同时,学者们也不断反思此前的研究方法,开始关注其他学科的焦点问题,从而呈现出现跨学科研究的状态。但现有的讨论、应用和反思限于以艺术表现反映历史事实和以墓葬功能为重点的两个方面。未来可以以此为基础,沿着跨学科的方向在研究问题、范畴、方法等方面继续拓展,对粮仓这一表现题材展开更为全面、深入的探讨。

Artistic representations of granaries in Han China has been a focus of scholarly attention for its richness.Studies from across disciplines have contributed to sort out the artistic expressions as well as the social issue and funerary practice behind.These perspectives bring us one step further into understanding the agrarian society of the Han dynasty.While new approaches continue arising,scholars have also contemplated on previ-ous methodologies bringing this topic to a new interdisciplinary phase.However,discussions so far concentrate on two fronts:art as a faithful reflection of historical facts and funerary-oriented perspective.On top of these,the representation of granaries can be explored along the interdisciplinary vein to have a comprehensive and indepth study in terms of research questions,scope and methods.
