摘要
阅读参与度是影响阅读能力和阅读成绩的重要因素。大学生英语阅读参与度是提高大学生英语阅读能力和促进其专业发展的关键因素之一。研究以广州市四所高校1,817名非英语专业大学生为研究对象,采用文献分析、质性访谈等方法,编制大学生英语阅读参与度量表。对该量表进行的探索性因素分析结果表明,英语阅读参与度由情感参与、行为参与和认知参与三个维度及六个因子组成;验证性因素分析发现,三维六因子模型的拟合度优于单维六因子模型。此外,信度分析表明,各因子的内部一致性信度和重测信度良好;效度检验表明,各因子间及各因子与总量表间相关系数较大,量表各题目之间的同质性和相关性较高。与关联效标学习投入量表比较发现,二者既有趋同效度,又有区分效度。因此,研究编制的大学生英语阅读参与度量表具有较高的信效度,符合测量学指标要求,可作为有效测量工具用于我国大学生英语阅读参与度的相关研究。
Reading engagement is a key factor to improve reading comprehension and reading achievement. English Reading engagement is an effective factor to enhance English reading comprehension as well as academic development of Chinese Tertiary EFL learners. Taking 1,817 non-English major undergraduates as subjects and employing such methods as literature review and qualitative interview, this study hypotheiszes a three-dimensional conceptual model of English Reading Engagement and develops a scale of reading engagement in English learning.The results from exploratory factor analysis show that English reading engagement consists of three dimensions and six sub-dimensions, namely, affective, behavioral and cognitive engagement for the former and reading motivation intensity, reading goal-value, intiative reading behaviors, interactive reading behaviors, text processing and task management processes for the latter. The results from confirmatory factor analysis show that the fit indexes of three dimensions with six sub-dimensions are better than the acceptable ones. Besides, both reliability and validity analysis show that the scale bears an ideal internal consistency as well as structural validity. When pitted against the academic engagement scale, English reading engagement scale demonstrates both convergent validity and divergent validity. Taken together, the study examines the psychometric properties of the scale and proves its ideal reliability and validity in measuring Chinese tertiary EFL learners’ reading engagement in English learning.
