A Ten Year’s Review and the Outlook about Translator Behavior Criticism

“译者行为批评”产生于国际译学研究“译者转向”的学理大背景下,其构建经历了对翻译循序渐进的认知过程。作为新生的中国本土翻译理论之一,“译者行为批评”具备系统性、术语性和工具性等理论特性,它从“译者”的行为切入,对翻译文本从语言内到语言外展开综合评价,推动了翻译批评的发展。经过十年的应用实践,学界从不同角度拓展“译者行为批评”研究范畴,主要体现在研究对象、研究领域和理论本体三方面。后续研究仍需要从这三个方面加强研究,尤其是理论本体的研究亟待拓展,以提高理论的解释性和工具的适用性。

Translator Behavior Criticism(TBC)grows out of the international background of translation studies’new trend,“translator turn”.It went through a gradual cognitive process about translation step by step.As one of the latest indigenous translation theories in China,TBC has its own complete system,unique terms and analysis tool,which are the basic characteristics of a theory.It,choosing“translator”as the analysis angle,does a comprehensive assess about a certain translation text from the linguistic level to the contextual level.This kind of analysis model has developed the translation criticism.After ten years application and practice since it was proposed,many scholars have expanded the research domains of TBC,which mainly lie in the research objects,fields and its ontological knowledge.Its subsequent research still needs to enhance these three aspects,especially the ontological research needs deepening so as to advance its functions of explanation and analysis in translation criticism.
