摘要 目前欧洲的PV C木塑复合材料(简称为PVC-WPCs)市场份额相对于聚烯烃基木塑复合材料(简称为PE-WPCs)而言是增势明显。PVC-WPCs中的木头的成份由原来的50%增长为70%,并采用无铅无锡的替代品来稳定聚合物。尽管与PE-W PCs具有相似的物理性质,但是PVC-WPCs除在价格上具有优势之外,还由于其PVC含氣量高而具有固有的泮火性能使其在燃烧性能上更是无与伦比。与其他材料相比,PVC—直具有争议性,这使得PVC行业这些年致力于提高PVC应用的形象与可持续性研究。目前专门针对PVC的可持续性研究的认证方面的工作开展得如火如荼。来自非政府盈利组织机构比如是顺其自然(Natural Step)的专家学者证实PVC具有成为完全可持续聚合物的强大潜力,确定了其五个优先可持续性的优势所在。但是,这对PVC木塑复合材料到底意味着什么呢?本文旨在揭示PVC木塑复合材料具有很高的可持续性,并指出目前对木塑复合材料的使用现状与要实现完全可持续性的PV C木塑复合材料还要面临的困难与挑战,最后提出进一步需要解决的方案。 The European market share of PVC-based wood-polymer composites(WPCs)is increasing relative to polyolefin-based WPCs.Wood content in PVC-based WPCs varies from 50%to 70%,with the polymer stabilised with lead-and tin-free alternatives.PVC-based and polyolefin-based WPCs have similar mechanical performance,though PVC-based WPCs are cost-competitive and are unrivalled in combustion behaviour due to inherent quenching properties due to their high chlorine content.The chlorine content also means that PVC-based WPCs have less embodied carbon.Compared to competitor materials,PVC has historically been regarded as a controversial material leading to the PVC industry undertaking significant actions to improve the image and sustainability of PVC.PVC is now one of the best extensively investigated resins regarding its sustainability credentials.Experts from NGOs,including for example The Natural Step,have confirmed that PVC has strong potential to become a fully sustainable polymer,identifying a set of five priority sustainability challenges.However,what does this mean for PVC-based wood-polymer composites?This paper demonstrates that PVC-based WPCs also possess a high sustainability potential.It explores the gaps between current WPCs and the goal of a fully sustainable PVC-based wood-polymer composites compound,and how they can be overcome.
