The Spatial Representation of Historic Changes——On the Spatial Narration of A Rose For Emily

借助空间叙事理论分析威廉·福克纳的经典短篇小说《献给爱米丽的一朵玫瑰花》,从小说的空间形式、爱米丽形象的空间表征和爱米丽的生存空间三方面探讨小说中蕴含的“艺术时空体”,以及福克纳如何将美国南方没落贵族经历的历史变迁浓缩到了空间书写中。

This paper analyzes William Faulkner s classic short story A Rose For Emily by using the theory of spatial narration,and explores the“artistic time-space body”contained in the novel from three aspects:the spatial form of the novel,the spatial representation of Emily s image and Emily s living space,as well as how Faulkner condenses the historical changes of American declining aristocrats in the South in spatial writing.
