Eyebrow augmentation with e-PTFE in the treatment of upper facial lowness and flatness

目的探讨通过膨体聚四氟乙烯(expanded polytetrafluoroethylene, e-PTFE)隆眉弓治疗上面部轮廓低平的效果和安全性。方法手术切口选择在眉尾,紧贴眉弓骨表面分离出腔隙,置入雕刻符合眉弓形态的e-PTFE,应用高速打孔钻穿透e-PTFE及眉弓骨外板,形成钛钉螺纹通道,用钛钉旋紧固定。如需要,可同期完成眉弓周边凹陷的脂肪填充。结果本组178例患者获随访3个月至2年,所有患者表情正常,无运动神经损伤、排斥反应及医源性感染,患者对术后效果均满意。结论采用e-PTFE隆眉弓的手术方法安全有效,很大程度上改善了患者上面部的骨性轮廓。良好的内固定是保证术后效果的必要条件。

Objective To explore the efficacy and safety of eyebrow augmentation with expanded polytetrafluoroethylene(e-PTFE) in the treatment of upper facial lowness and flatness. Methods The surgical incision was selected at the eyebrow tail and space was separated close to the surface of eyebrow bone. The carved e-PTFE in accordance with the shape of the eyebrow was implanted. The high-speed drill punch was applied to penetrate the e-PTFE and outer plate of eyebrow bone, and titanium screw thread channel was formed. Titanium screw was used for the fixation of implants. If necessary, autologous fat transplantation was performed around the eyebrow during the same period. Results One hundred and seventy-eight patients were followed up from 3 months to 2 years. All patients had normal expression. No motor nerve injury, rejection or iatrogenic infection occurred. All patients were satisfied with the postoperative efficacy. Conclusion The application of e-PTFE for eyebrow augmentation was safe and effective. This method can greatly improve bony contour of upper face of Chinese people. Good internal fixation was a necessary approach to ensure the postoperative efficacy.
