近代印刷术革新与《红楼梦》刊行研究的新突破

揭示经典文学的现代意义,是凸显文化自信的重要路径。对中国古代文学研究者来说,需要超越文学的自身格局,把研究对象置于中国文化的整体来思考。自1919年五四新文化运动至今,对《红楼梦》的研究已经走过百年历程,回顾这百年《红楼梦》学术史,可以发现,现代意义的"红学"建立之初,本来就没有局限于文学内部:王国维《红楼梦评论》运用西方哲学理念,蔡元培《石头记索隐》强调民族革命,胡适《红楼梦考证》结合个人家族史以及后来马克思主义社会学的引入,都具有广阔的研究视野。随着对文学审美性的强调和对语言艺术本身的重视,关于经典作品的文化学研究被边缘化了,或者说分层化了。一方面是有关《红楼梦》各种纯艺术技巧的理论讨论,是版本学意义上的字斟句酌;另一方面是借《红楼梦》名义却又无关《红楼梦》本体的各种红楼文化研究的随意发挥。由此,我们强调立足《红楼梦》本体,以开阔的文化学视野展开研究的再出发。这种再出发,路径固然不少,但突破渊深流长的文学趣味主义局限尤为重要。因为文学趣味主义的最大问题是过于强调文学的内部纯粹性,常常只从审美鉴赏的角度来分析文学现象,以满足自身的审美娱乐,而忽视在一个整体文化视野中的意义和价值。简单举例说,当有学者提出《红楼梦》缺少晴雯的肖像描写是因为作者运用了留白艺术而留给读者想象余地时,却并没有意识到,所谓留白,常常是作者有意或无意忽视特定阶层人物的一种表征,因为当小说的视角基本采用了主人立场,丫鬟奴仆的容貌是很难进入主人视野的。于是,看似是艺术审美的一个策略问题,其实隐含着当时社会文化的整体意识。当然,文化学研究既需要挖掘文学的深层次问题,以显示文化学的立体性,也需要把文学的生产和接受置于社会过程来考虑,以体现文化的动态发展性。这里,我们邀请四位红学家从文化的不同视角研究《红楼梦》这部伟大经典,它既有从语体多样性入手,讨论其折射的历史文化信息,也有分析小说人物形象和现实生活特定人物的契合度;既有从印刷技术角度梳理《红楼梦》的传播,也有对早期《红楼梦》电影改编作文化生态学意义的发展研究。总之,它是对文学经典在文化大视野中的再阐释,也一定程度上依托了《红楼梦》本身的丰富复杂,拓宽了文化学的格局。

To reveal the modern significance of classical literature is an important way to highlight cultural self-confidence. For the researchers of ancient Chinese literature,they need to go beyond the pattern of literature and consider the research object as a whole of Chinese culture. Looking back on the academic history of Hongloumeng in the past hundred years,we can find that at the beginning of the establishment of the modern meaning of"Hongxue",it was not limited to the interior of literature. Therefore,based on the noumenon of Hongloumeng,we emphasize the re-starting of the research with a broad cultural perspective. Here,we invite four Hongloumeng scholars to study Hongloumeng from different perspectives of culture. It not only discusses the historical and cultural information reflected in Hongloumeng from the perspective of stylistic diversity,but also analyzes the correspondence between the characters in the novel and the specific characters in real life. It not only combs the spread of Hongloumeng from the perspective of printing technology,but also changes the early film of Hongloumeng to make a study on the development of cultural ecology. In a word,it is the re-interpretation of literary classics in the cultural field of vision. It also relies on the rich and complex of Hongloumeng itself to a certain extent and widens the pattern of culturology.
