烟台恤养院旧址

The Old Site of Yantai Care Hospital

烟台恤养院旧址位于烟台市芝罘区南山路南端。建有砖石结构的四层楼房三座,三层楼房两座,系中西合璧式的学校建筑。分为东、西两院,垣墙以东属家务部,为女孤儿和婴儿部分。西院则为教养部,全部为男孤儿所用。中门四扇大门上前后两面分别镌有“整齐严肃、庄重端正”8个大字。整个恤养院旧址的建设,由世界红己字会烟台分会筹办。从1929年始建,1932年冬竣工,1933年开始接收需要抚恤、抚养人员,当年八月初一(9月20日)正式开幕。

The old site of Yantai Care Hospital was situated in the southern end of Nanshan Road.Zhifu District,Yantai.The three four-storey masonry-structure buildings and two three-storey buildings are school buildings combining the Chinese and Western styles.It is divided into an eastern courtyard and a western one with the former as the domestic department for female orphans and babies and the latter as the upbringing department for male orphans.The front and back sides of the four doors in the middle gate were inscribed withuorder,solemnity,seriousness andcorrectitude.w Construction of the old site of the whole care hospital was arranged by World Red Swastika Society Yantai Branch.It was started in 1929 and completed in the winter of 1932.It began to adopt people in need of care from 1933 and officially opened on the first day of the eighth lunar month(Sept.20).
