学术资本与学术资本主义--兼议学术资本之争

Academic Capital and Academic Capitalism:With a Discussion on the Debate over Academic Capital

"学术资本"与"学术资本主义",是含义不同的两个概念,前者意指学术资源,是学术扩大再生产的一种能力,基本是中性的;后者意指带有剥削性质的学术商业化现象,无疑是贬义的。但是,国内一些学者对这两个概念的理解并不一致,因此出现了一些争论,"胡、杨之争"便是一例。通过对学术资本与学术资本主义的内涵及特征辨析,我们有理由明确主张:合理利用学术资本以发展学术,防止学术资本主义以杜绝对学术事业和高等教育事业的腐蚀。

The two concepts of "academic capital and "academic capitalism" distinguish from each other. The former is basically neutral,referring to academic resources and academic reproduction capacity;whereas the latter carries possibly derogatory nuances, referring to the phenomenon of exploitative academic commercialization.These two concepts,however,have received different understandings among domestic scholars,which has given rise to debates including that between Hu Qin-xiao and Yang Shan-fa. In view of the current situation of higher education at home and abroad,there is a need to clearly advocate the rational use of academic capital for academic development and the prevention of academic capitalism to avoid the erosion of academic and higher education.
