摘要
中国崛起与话语崛起密不可分,树立话语自信至关重要。本研究基于霍米·巴巴的文化翻译观,从"异质性""杂合""第三空间"和"边界协商"的基本概念出发,以《习近平谈治国理政》的英译为例,探讨如何在外宣翻译中再现异质他者,彰显文化自信。研究发现,译者常选用可还原式直译,积极保留源语文化的异质他者,再现中国元素,主动重构他者语境,使译文呈现丰富的语言杂合和文化杂合,微观层面体现出语言自觉,宏观层面体现出文化自觉,促进源语文化和目标文化在第三空间充分进行边界协商,有利于提升中国话语的国际影响力和传播力。
A rising China calls for the corresponding discourse confidence in international communication.From Homi Bhabha's cultural view on translation,based on its basic concepts like“other⁃ness”,“hybridity”,“the third space”,“borderline negotiation”,this study explores how to demonstrate cultural confidence and display otherness in the translation of The Governance of China.It has found that the translators have both language awareness and cultural awareness by employing literal translation which can be easily back⁃translated,preserving the“otherness”of the source culture,and reconstructing the“other”context,contributing to the hybridity of the translated text both linguistically and culturally.This could encourage the borderline negotiation in the third space between the source and target culture,and help to enhance the influence and radiation of China's international discourse power.
