Yunqi Yilan,namely,five elements’ motion and six kinds of natural factors,is a monograph of Wang Ji,a doctor in Ming dynasty.This book,adhering to the theory of five yun and six qi in Huangdi Neijing,elucidates the important issues of five yun and six qi,such as Yuanhuiyunshi is long periods of cycle of five yun and six qi and movement of the earth in years of Jia/Ji governs the south,which have important influences on the inheritance and application of the five yun and six qi in later ages.This paper expounds the medical thought and formula characteristics of five yun and six qi from three aspects:developing the medical thought of five yun and six qi,creating the prescriptions of the main diseases of five yun and six qi,and innovating the inheritance form of five yun and six qi,which is of great value for studying the theory of five yun and six qi and its clinical application.
