A Study on Complimentary Speech Act of the Bai People in Jianchuan,Dali

称赞是维护人们积极面子的言语行为,是社会交际的润滑剂。大理剑川白族在日常交际中广泛地使用比喻型称赞、对比型称赞和渐进型称赞等表达方式,既可以表示对他人的欣赏和感谢之意,也可以缓和批评语气或是奉承、讨好他人,对句式策略、礼貌策略的高效运用有利于满足交际需求,保证交际顺利进行。

Compliment is a speech act to maintain people’s positive face and a lubricant for social communication. In daily communication,the Bai people of Jianchuan County,Dali Prefecture widely use metaphorical,contrastive and progressive compliments,which can not only express their appreciation and gratitude to the addressees,but also ease their critical tone so as to flatter and please the addressees. The efficient use of sentence strategies and politeness strategies is conducive to meet the needs of communication and ensure smooth progress of communication.
