摘要
美国非裔作家詹姆斯·麦克布莱德的《上帝鸟》围绕美国内战前的废奴运动,以约翰·布朗起义为历史背景,展现了一段关于美国奴隶制的历史。麦克布莱德从当代视角来进行历史的重述与书写,融合了历史现实与虚构,在这个过程中连接了历史与现实,过去与现在,现在与将来,从而体现出他对当代种族问题的探索与思考。本文将从种族、性别、身份三方面来讨论小说中的历史书写问题,探索历史重述下被颠覆的黑白对立的种族观、男性与女性对立的性别观、西方形而上学的身份观。
The Good Lord Bird written by James McBride, an American writer of African origin, is about a period of slavery history. He rewords this period revolving around the John Brown movement.From the modern perspective, he makes a connection between history and reality, past and present,present and future. Therefore, The Good Lord Bird shows his consideration and exploration about racial issues. This paper expounds the historical point of this novel from three aspects including race, gender,identity. Through rewriting history, this novel subverts the traditional binary oppositions between the white and the black, between male and female, and metaphysical view of identity.
