In the modern history of China,Zeng Guofan was hailed as"the perfection of the ages"because of his moral achievements,successful career and academic success.Throughout his life,he pursued the perfect sage and gentleman personality and formed the thought of gentleman personality cultivation with rich content and profound connotation from four aspects,cautious self-reflection,reading to understand the truth,improving moral cultivation and expanding achievements,being determined and persevering.His thought richly developed the work theory in the ideological system of Neo-Confucianism of the Song-Ming period.
