On How to Manage and Educate Foreign Students Who Come to Study in China for the Belt and Road Initiative

近年来沿线国家来华留学生增速迅猛,但相关教育管理问题也伴随而生。高校对来华留学生的考核准入机制宽松,生源质量参差不齐,跨文化管理水平有待提高,来华留学生跨文化适应问题突显。为保障“一带一路”倡议的顺利进行,中国高等教育应提升质量保障机制,探索有效的教育管理方案,如加强留学生经济支撑体系,建立朋辈心理辅导——辅导员——心理中心三层干预体系等。

In recent years,an increasing number of foreign students from countries along the Belt and Road come to study in China.How to manage and educate them becomes an issue worthy of attention.Currently,these foreign students can easily gain admission to Chinese universities.Their quality varies with place of origin and they often experience culture shock owing to the lack of cross-cultural knowledge.For the Belt and Road initiative to go smoothly,Chinese universities must have sound safeguard mechanisms to ensure the quality of these students,work out effective education and management programs,for instance,strengthening their economic support and building a three-layered psychological intervention system that offers peer counseling,counseling from the advisor and advice from the center for psychological wellness.
