The Fostering of a Consciousness of Community for the Chinese Nation from Perspective of National Governance

中华民族共同体意识是指中华民族从心理层面和社会文化层面对这一共同体的自觉认知和理性把握,其中"自觉意识"与"话语意识"有着独特的价值。在中国学术研究领域,以费孝通先生的"中华民族多元一体社会格局理论"为代表,多学科广泛开展研究,丰富了中华民族共同体意识的内涵。教育学领域也以此理论为基础,广泛开展了中华民族共同体意识的教育及研究工作。从教育的路径出发,新时代铸牢中华民族共同体意识要加强民族团结共同体教育、国家统一共同体教育与中华文化繁荣共同体教育。

The community for the Chinese nation refers to a community of common destiny shaped by a combination of different geographical relationships,tied by blood and cultures,and built and shared by all ethnic groups in the long course of history and amid complex social realities.A consciousness of community for the Chinese nation refers to people’s conscious recognition and rational knowledge about the community from psychological and sociocultural levels.Among them,self-consciousness and discourse consciousness are particularly valuable.Fei Xiaotong’s theory of unity of pluralistic society of Chinese nation started domestic researches in this area.Then,multidisciplinary researches were conducted extensively,enriching the connotation of the consciousness of community for the Chinese nation.In the field of pedagogy,fostering such a consciousness has also been taken as the basis,and a full range of educational activities and researches have been carried out.From a broad and long-term view led by President Xi,Central Working Conference about Nationality Affairs pointed out that unity of pluralistic society of Chinese nation is the fundamental reality of the country.Besides,in the reports of the 19 th National Congress of the Communist Party of China,a consciousness of community for the Chinese nation is systematically illustrated in terms of its significance for strengthening ethnic unity,safeguarding national reunification and promoting international exchanges and communication.In the Communique of the 4 th Plenary Session of the 19 th CPC Central Committee,it was further discussed from the perspective of national governance for its contribution to improving the socialist system with Chinese characteristics and promoting ethnic unity,national reunification and culture flourishment.To achieve educational goals in the new area,we need to forge a strong consciousness of the community for the Chinese nation,which requires us to enhance education in the areas of ethic unity,national reunification and the thriving of Chinese culture.
