Bai Chongren is one of the pioneers in the study of"minority literature"since the new period. He constantly reflects on the history and current situation of the development of"minority literature",actively explores the theoretical road of"minority literature"creation,and examines the development and trend of contemporary minority literature. His re-interpretation of the concept and value of"minority literature",his examination of characteristics of the Hui literature and his open,diversified and innovative critical ideas in his criticism practice have become important achievements in the research field of"minority literature".Among them,the consciousness of national identity and cultural identity became the representative mode of Bai Chongren’s literary criticism,which also showed his valuable academic quality as a minority scholar.
