A Survey of the Cliff Carvings on Both Sides of the Baiyangquan River in Zezhou

泽州县白洋泉河两岸摩崖造像由于地处偏僻,鲜为人知。对此摩崖造像进行了初步的考古调查,并对造像题材、造像题记、造像风格等进行探讨,为研究晋城地区佛教信仰、佛教组织、佛教艺术等提供资料参考。

The cliff carvings on both sides of the Baiyangquan River in Zezhou are unknown due to their remoteness. This paper makes a preliminary archaeological survey of these cliff carvings, and explores their themes, inscriptions and styles, hoping to provide some new information for the study of Buddhist belief, Buddhist organization and art in Jincheng.
