Research on the Measurement and the Current Situation of the Medium Income Group Size in Hunan Province Based on Nonparametric Estimation

摘要 本文基于中国健康与营养调查的(CHNS)1989—2015年家庭人均微观调查数据,运用核密度函数对湖南省中等收入群体规模进行测算。研究结果表明:①运用中位数的75%~125%能更合理地测算湖南省中等收入群体规模,且2015年湖南省中等收入群体比重约为21%。②湖南省城乡居民收入分配格局不合理。虽然居民生活水平有所上升,但是低收入人群规模较大,中等收入群体规模严重不足,并出现中等收入群体比重下降趋势。③城乡及居民之间的收入分配呈现出较大差距并且收入不平等也愈发明显。对此,研究结论可为扩大湖南省中等收入群体规模、有效调节城乡居民收入分配格局并实现经济增长提供政策决策参考。 Drawing on China health and nutrition survey data(CHNS)from 1989 to 2015,this paper uses kernel density to calculate the median income of urban and rural residents in Hunan province.The results show that:①It is more reasonable to calculate the proportion of middle income group in Hunan province by using 75%to 125%of the median.②The income distribution pattern of urban and rural residents in Hunan province is unreasonable.Although the living standard of residents has increased,the scale of low-income group is large,the scale of middle-income group is seriously insufficient,and the proportion of middle-income group is decreasing.③Income distribution between urban and rural areas and between urban and rural residents shows a large gap,and income inequality is increasingly obvious.In this regard,policy suggestions are provided for the real measurement and understanding of the size of middle-income group in Hunan province,and efforts are made to expand the size of middle-income group,effectively adjust the income distribution pattern of urban and rural residents,and reduce the income gap between residents to achieve economic growth.
