刘勰认为“精约”是八体之一,学术史对“精约”尚未有系统的论述。“精”指的是文章的内容明白清晰,“约”指的是文章形式简明扼要,“精”与“约”相辅相成,“精约”即文章“事核而言练”“意显而语质”“辞约而精”,是指通过对文辞的锤炼,使文章呈现出来语言简洁、语意明确畅达的整体风貌。

According to Liu Xie,precision and conciseness are one of the eight styles and have not been systematically discussed in academic history.Precision refers to clear understaning of content of articles and conciseness refers to concise from of articles.Precision and conciseness complement each other,which means that through the language,articles bring out the style of conciseness and clearly.
