摘要
评价理论是由Martin、White等人在20世纪90年代创立的一套理论系统,作为功能语言学的延续和发展,为话语分析提供了一个新的理论框架。本文以评价理论为基础,采用定性分析的方法对特蕾莎·梅的辞职演讲进行研究,旨在揭示她是如何使用评价理论中态度、介入和级差资源实现其人际意义。同时,也能使英语学习者更准确地掌握语言的使用。
The appraisal theory is a set of theoretical systems established by Martin and White in the 1990 s. As a continuation and development of functional linguistics, it provides a new theoretical framework for discourse analysis. Based on appraisal theory,this paper uses the method of qualitative analysis to study Teresa May’s resignation speech, aiming to reveal how May uses the attitude, engagement and graduation resources in appraisal theory to achieve interpersonal meaning. It also enables English learners to more accurately grasp the use of language.
