June 22,2011,as I stood near Yushu Airport in the midst of lofty mountains,I had the opportunity to take the thin air of the highland once again into my nostrils.All of a sudden,my eyes fell upon a group of paramedics moving a stretcher and rushing toward a waiting plane.I heard later that the man on the stretcher had been attacked by a brown bear when he was out in the field digging around for caterpillar fungus.He was being airlifted to Xining,the capital of Qinghai.
