A Record of the Academician Forum on“Jiangxi Model”of Beautiful China

江西历史悠久,人文荟萃,古迹众多,红色、绿色、古色交相辉映,享有“物华天宝、人杰地灵”的美誉,是名副其实的“江南昌盛之地”和“文章节义之乡”。2015年3月,习近平总书记在参加十二届全国人大三次会议江西代表团审议时殷切嘱托,要像保护眼睛一样保护生态环境,像对待生命一样对待生态环境,要求江西走出一条经济发展和生态文明相辅相成、相得益彰的路子。2016年2月,习近平总书记亲临江西视察时指出,绿色生态是江西最大财富、最大优势、最大品牌,一定要保护好。

On the afternoon of December 7,2019,the academician forum on“Jiangxi Model”of Beautiful China was held grandly in Nanchang,Jiangxi.The forum was sponsored by Beijing Forestry University,co-sponsored by Jiangxi Development and Reform Commission and Jiangxi Provincial Department of Forestry.This forum,one of the important activities of Poyang Lake International Bird Watching Week 2019,was aimed at in-depth discussions on major scientific and technological issues of ecological civilization construction and ecological environment protection,and promoting the ideological understanding of harmonious coexistence between man and nature.More than 300 people attended the forum.Mao Weiming,then standing member of Jiangxi Provincial Party Committee and executive deputy governor,and Wang Hongyuan,secretary of the Party Committee of Beijing Forestry University,delivered speeches respectively.An Lizhe,President of Beijing Forestry University,hosted the seminar for special reports in which 7 academicians from Chinese Academy of Engineering such as Shen Guofang,Yin Yulong,Kang Zhensheng,Wu Qiang,Wu Fengchang,Li Xiong and Lin Zhen(the latter two are also experts from Beijing Forestry University),exchanged their discussions on building national ecological civilization ex-perimental area with high quality in Jiangxi,urban-rural living environment ecology and green development paradigm in the new era,ecological civilization governance system and modernization of governance capacity,etc.They provided suggestions for the development of ecological civilization in Jiangxi.The forum offset its carbon emissions and achieved a“zero carbon”meeting by purchasing forestry carbon sink projects in Le’an County,Jiangxi Province.
