During the period of Filipino independence,U. S. remolded US-Philippine bilateral relationship under the backdrop of "Bamboo Curtain". Based on geopolitics of early Asian Cold War,U.S. embedded the Philippines into its Cold War Asian ally system and treated this former colony as a democracy model for other newly independent nations after WWII,which helped to assist the American economic and security interests in Southeast Asia. U.S.neocolonialism policy towards the Philippines was manifested in molding the Philippines into an American-style system and exerted influence on it. Thus the Filipino regime supported by U.S. would carry out American Cold War macro strategy. U.S. also intended to realize the localization of Cold War propaganda activities in the Philippines. The Asia Foundation( TAF),a far-flung agency of Central Intelligence Agency( CIA),utilized local civil organizations and launched social and propaganda activities far and wide in the Philippines to serve the U.S. macro Cold War strategy in Asia.
