National music with the distinctive characteristics of Chinese nation refers to musical works born in the land of China since ancient times.A series of policies about cultural development in“One Belt and One Road”Initiative provide unprecedented opportunities and platforms for the exchange and development of national music in China and in the world,and also provide unlimited possibilities for further promotion of the development of national music.This article expounds the practical significance of music and cultural exchange in the new situation from the two aspects of the external dissemination of Chinese national music and the absorption of foreign music culture,which provides a theoretical basis for the future development of national music.
