美国中西部城市华人移民家庭的语言规划研究 被引量:1

摘要 论文以Spolsky的FLP框架为理论基础,研究美国中西部城市华人移民家庭的语言状况,涉及语言行为、语言理念、身份认同以及为保持汉语所做出的努力四个方面。主要结论有:在缺乏汉语环境的地区,语言转用发展迅速,二代移民已基本完成语言转用。华人移民家庭最终的语言状况是家庭成员的语言理念和相应的努力与社区语言环境相平衡的结果。华人家庭保持汉语意愿的强度是一个连续统,呈现出多样化的状态。二代移民的汉语水平与家长的语言理念相关。文章还讨论了二代移民身份认同、语言理念、语言行为三者之间的关系。 This paper studies the family language policy of Chinese immigrant families in the cities of the Midwest USA by using the Spolsky’s FLP framework as its theoretic basis.It involves such factors as language ideology,language practice,self-identification and efforts at maintaining the use of Chinese within the family.The main conclusion is that language shift develops rapidly in a community lack of a Chinese-language environment and is almost completed by the second-generation immigrants.The final language situation of the Chinese immigrant family is a balance of the family members’language ideology,efforts and the community language environment.The desire of the Chinese immigrant family for maintaining their heritage language is a continuum,presenting a state of diversity.The Chinese proficiency of the second generation is correlated to their parents'language ideology.This paper also discusses the relation of their self-identification,language ideology and language practice.
