Objective To explore the plasma free amino acid levels in patients with first-episode schizophrenia and their correlations with glucolipid metabolism. Methods A total of 40 adults with first-episode schizophrenia(case group)and 40 healthy controls matching the patients in age and sex(control group)were selected.Plasma free amino acid levels of them were analyzed using UPLC-Q-Exactive Orbitrap-MS/MS platform, and data analyses were performed using SPSS 22.0.Results The level of FBG in case group was higher than that in control group(P<0.05).Levels of Leucine,Isoleucine,Threonine,Asparagine,Lysine,Histidine and Tryptophan in case group were lower than those in control group(P<0.05),while the level of Glutamine was higher than that in control group(P<0.05).The level of FBG was positively correlated with glycine level and negatively correlated with glutamic acid level(P<0.05).The level of TG was positively correlated with levels of proline, lysine and tryptophan(P<0.05)and negatively correlated with serine level(P<0.05).The level of TC was negatively correlated with threonine levels and positively correlated with lysine level(P<0.05).Conclusion There exist abnormalities in plasma free amino acid levels and glucolipid metabolism in patients with first-episode schizophrenia, which confirms the role of amino acids in the pathology of schizophrenia and their involvement in glucolipid metabolism.
