作为在中国生活了近四十年的美国人,赛珍珠在《大地》中有许多关于儒家文化与传统中国女性地位的描述。其描写在一定程度上符合当时的社会现实,但特殊的中西方双重文化身份,使其不经意间在西方深层文化意识的作用下,用一个西方人的视角审视儒家文化及中国女性地位。其描写并不完全符合当时的社会现实。

As an American who has lived in China for nearly forty years,Pearl Buck has many descriptions of Confucian culture and the status of traditional Chinese women in《The Good Earth》.To a certain extent,its description conforms to the social reality at that time,but the special dual cultural identity between China and the West makes she has western deep cultural consciousness.Under the influence of Western deep cultural consciousness,her description does not fully correspond to the social reality at the time.
