From the World to Village:How Communication Research Is Rooted in Local China

当学术界聚焦于中国在“地球村”中的“崛起”时,从全球视野关注现实中的中国村庄不仅是全面理解传播与社会权力关系的需要,而且是克服传播研究的西方中心主义和工业资本主义偏颇的必然要求。乡村在传播、现代化和全球资本主义研究中有重要的位置,城乡关系更是理解中国卷入全球资本主义的历史轨迹以及传播与文化在这一历史轨迹中重要作用的关键。以个人经历作为学术想象力的起点,一项“从全球到村庄”跨文化传播研究和教学实践“落地”浙江省缙云县千年古村落河阳,为全球权力转移时代创新传播研究提供了一个完整和动态的“从全球到村庄”和“从村庄到全球”新视角。

When the academic circles focus on China’s“rise”in the“global village”,focusing on the reality of Chinese villages from a global perspective is not only the need to fully understand the relationship between communication and social power,but also the inevitable requirement to overcome the bias of Western centralism and industrial capitalism in communication research.Villages play an important role in the study of communication,modernization and global capitalism,and the relationship between urban and rural areas is the key to understand the historical trajectory of China’s involvement in global capitalism and the important role of communication and culture in this historical trajectory.Taking personal experience as the starting point of academic imagination,a cross\|cultural communication research and teaching practice of“From the World to the Village”“has landed”in Heyang,a millennium village in Jinyun County,Zhejiang Province,which provided a holistic and dynamic new perspective of“From the World to Village”and“From Village to the World”for the research of innovation communication in the era of global power transfer.
