“功能对等”理论下的汉语网络新词英译探究

On the English Translation of Chinese Network Neologisms Based on the Theory of Functional Equivalence

本文首先从多种意义、灵活生动两方面论述了汉语网络新词的主要特点,又基于功能对等理论,详细探讨了汉语网络新词英文翻译的基本原则。进而分别从直接翻译,达到词语含义的功能对等、间接翻译,体现翻译文章的文化特点、发音翻译,保留被译语言的音韵之美、构词翻译,彰显网络新词的幽默风趣四个维度,提出了汉语网络新词英文翻译的有效策略和方法。以期为其他翻译人员提供有利的参考。

This paper discusses the main characteristics of Chinese network neologisms from various meanings and flexible and vivid aspects,and then,based on the theory of functional equivalence,discusses in detail the basic principles of English translation of Chinese network neologisms.Then,from the four dimensions of direct translation,functional equivalence and indirect translation of word meanings,reflecting the cultural characteristics of the translated text,pronunciation translation,retaining the beauty of the phonology of the translated language,word-formation translation and highlighting the humor and interest of network neologisms,the effective strategies and methods of English translation of Chinese network neologisms are put forward.It is hoped that this paper can provide a useful reference for other translators.
