曹禺被誉为中国的"莎士比亚",是中国莎士比亚研究的开拓者。曹禺在"固化"阶段理解、接受了莎士比亚;在"内化"阶段,曹禺有意识地将莎士比亚戏剧艺术融化在戏剧创作中;在"大众化"阶段,曹禺根据中国文化建设的需要,积极译介、推广莎剧,莎士比亚的精髓得以融入了中国话剧、戏曲的血液中,为中国戏剧发展提供滋养。曹禺有意识地借鉴莎士比亚的创作艺术,无意识地推动了莎士比亚中国化,为莎士比亚中国化探赜索幽隐,迷津倏释然。

Cao Yu is the Chinese Shakespeare,the pioneer of the Chinese Shakespeare research,and he understood and accepted Shakespeare through the stage of“solidification”.In the stage of“internalization”,Cao Yu consciously melted Shakespeare’s dramatic art in his creation.In the stage of“popularization”,Cao Yu actively translated and promoted Shakespeare’s plays according to the actual needs of China,and promoted the Chinese drama and opera to absorb the essence of Shakespeare’s works.Cao Yu assimilated Shakespeare creative thoughts,which unconsciously promoted Shakespeare sinicization.
