全球性问题的要素和样态多种多样,相互之间又具有复杂的贯通性、渗透性、集群性,实质上并非单一问题,而是一个总问题下的症候群。对这样的症候群,既需要就事论事具体问题具体解决,也必须顺藤摸瓜深入堂奥总体关照。实际上,从实践论的历史观视角里,这种症候群的确具有一个相对彻底的贯通逻辑,即"物化逻辑"。"物化逻辑"源自于长期累积起来的技术进步,属于历史的特定阶段,因此也就必然在"革命批判的"历史实践中成为新历史阶段的扬弃对象。就此而言,科技进步即使不是化解全球化问题的全部条件,也必然是其中最为基础、持久和重要的历史进路。
