Connotations,Causes and Contemporary Values of Clean Government Cultures in Ancient China:A Case Study of Shanxi

古代山西是一个廉政文化大省,从商代开始就出现了许多著名廉吏,他们体现并丰富发展了廉政与廉政文化的内涵。山西古代廉政文化的产生与官员的个人修养有关,也与古代廉政制度体系、部分帝王重视官员德行以及山西人诚信、质朴的性格特点有关。分析山西古代廉政文化产生的内外因对于继承发扬山西古代廉政文化、促进当代山西廉政文化建设具有重要意义。

Shanxi province,as a big province in developing clean government cultures,has had many famous clean and honest officials since the Shang dynasty.These officials have reflected and enriched the connotations of clean government cultures.The big development of clean government cultures in Shanxi is not only relevant to the personal qualities of the officials but also results from the merits of clean government systems and the emphasis of emperors on the morality of officials.What is more,it is largely contributed by the characteristics of people in Shanxi.The analyses of the reasons for generating clean government cultures in Shanxi in ancient times is significant for the inheritance and development of contemporary clean government cultures.
