Theoretical and Practical Basis of the Advantages of New China's Ethnic Policy in the Perspective of Ethnic Equality

党的十九届四中全会全面总结了中国特色社会主义制度的显著优势,其中也指明了我国民族政策的制度优势。民族政策优势的形成,是中国共产党带领中华民族在革命与建设的历史征程中,不断创新、发展与完善民族政策的结果。在我国的民族政策体系中,民族平等是民族政策的基石,是新中国立国的根本原则之一,也是新中国区别于以往时代、西方国家的显著优势。为此,以民族平等为研究切入点,通过对新中国民族平等政策形成的传统资源优势、马克思主义民族平等观的根本理念优势,以及新中国民族平等成就的全面总结,能够从理论与实践层面,科学、客观地了解我国民族政策的优势所在,也是我们在民族事务治理中坚定制度自信的基本前提之一。

The Fourth Plenary Session of the 19th CPC Central Committee has comprehensively summarized the significant advantages of the socialist system with Chinese characteristics,and has also pointed out the institutional advantages of our ethnic policy.The advantage of the ethnic policy is the result of the Communist Party of China leading the Chinese nation to continuously innovate,develop and improve its ethnic policy in the historical journey of revolution and construction.In this system,ethnic equality as the cornerstone of the ethnic policy is one of the fundamental principles of New China,and it is also a significant advantage of New China that distinguishes it from the one in previous times and Western countries.To this end,taking ethnic equality as the starting point for research,and giving a comprehensive summary of the traditional advantage of the resources obtained by New China's ethnic equality policy as well as the fundamental advantage of the Marxist concept of ethnic equality and its achievements,it is possible to have a scientific and objective understanding of the advantages of our ethnic policy at the theoretical and practical levels,which is also one of the basic prerequisites for enhancing our institutional self-confidence in the handling of ethnic affairs.
