[Purpose/Significance]In the past decade, the retraction rate of scientific papers has risen sharply, which has attracted the attention of many researchers. However, most of the researches focused on the analysis of the reasons for retraction, and there were few studies on the impact of retraction on the author's academic career.[Method/Process]This study retrieved 2784 pieces of publications and retraction notices from 2010 to 2018 from the Web of Science database and PubMed database.[Result/Conclusion]The number of retractions and retraction rates have increased since 2010 with plagiarism(741)being the reason for the largest number of publications. The countries with the highest source of withdrawal of publications are China, the United States,Iran, etc. The journals are Tumor Biology and Plos One.The study observes the impact of retraction on the author's academic career from the author's volume,h index, and position change. There was a significant differences in the volume of publications 5 years ago and 5 years later(Z=-3.327,P<0.001)for the corresponding author. The author's IRP,h index growth rate, and position were also affected by the withdrawal. It is suggested that in the scientific research,it is necessary to make up for the loopholes in the academic supervision system and the publishing process, strengthen the integrity education, and enhance the ability of independent innovation.
