当代中国大学之道

The Contemporary University Ideology in China

《大学》奠定了我国先秦时期“大学之道”的核心和精髓。“大学之道”在不同的历史时期有着不同的内涵。伴随着工业文明时代的到来,在中西方两种文化矛盾冲突与融合中,我国古代“大学之道”不断地被赋予新的时代内涵,推动了大学教育和人类文明的进步。然而,面对20世纪90年代以后世界范围内日益出现的以“崇尚物质,忽视人文”为基本特征的文化生态危机及其导致的大学精神衰微现象,不少有识之士呼吁高等教育回归“人”的主体地位,并期待重新确立“以人为本,实现和谐”的新时代大学所追求的崇高信仰。为此,当前我们的一项紧迫任务就是在继承我国先秦时期“大学之道”的核心和精髓的基础上,学习、借鉴人类社会积淀和创造的一切优秀文明成果,包括近代以来西方大学理念创新的优秀元素和具有当代价值的文化精神,以“人文、理性、求实、创新、和谐”为核心价值信念创新当代中国“大学之道”,探索构建当代中国大学人的精神家园,以适应当今世界大发展大调整大变革和以“人工智能”为核心的新科技革命的客观需要。

The Great Learning laid the core and essence of the university ideology in China since the pre-Qin period.The ideology of university has different connotations in different historical periods.With the arrival of industrial civilization era,the conflict and integration of the two cultures of China and the West has given new connotation to the ancient ideology of university in China,which promotes the progress of university education and human civilization.However,cultural ecological crisis since 1990s in the world as well as in China with the basic characteristics of"advocating material and ignoring humanity"and the decline of university spirit caused by it,many scholars appealed for higher education to return to the dominant position of"human",and reestablish"peopleoriented and harmonious"pursuit of universities in the new era.For this reason,current strategic task is to learn and draw lessons from all the outstanding achievements of civilizations accumulated and created by human society,including the excellent elements of modern western university concepts and the cultural spirit of contemporary value.On the basis of inheriting the core and essence of university ideology in the pre-Qin period of China,"humanity,rationality,realism,innovation and harmony"are the core values and beliefs that innovate the"university ideology"in contemporary China.It is essential to explore and build the spiritual home of contemporary Chinese universities,so as to meet the objective needs of the world's major developments,adjustments and reforms,and the new technological revolutions with"artificial intelligence"as the core.
