一篇由比利时籍传教士Joseph Van Oost神父撰写的,发表在1915~1916年维也纳《人类学》(Anthropos,Revue Interantional d’Ethnologie et de Linguistique)杂志第十、十一卷的《鄂尔多斯蒙古族的音乐》(La Musique chez les Mongols des Urdus)向我们描述了20世纪初期,中国内蒙古鄂尔多斯地区蒙古族人民的音乐文化概况。在《鄂尔多斯蒙古族的音乐》一文中,欧斯特神父从旋律、节奏、宗教音乐、乐器及记谱法四个方面对20世纪初期,内蒙古鄂尔多斯地区的蒙古族音乐做了较为详细的记录、分析和研究。在译文中,译者基本保持了原文的原貌,必要之处进行了相应的解释、分析和批注。

The Mongolian music of Ordos,Written by Father Joseph Van Oost,a Belgian missionary,was published in Anthropology,(vol10-11)from 1915 to 1916.It described to us the music culture of the Mongolian people in Ordos region of Inner Mongolia in the early 20th century.Father Oster made a detailed record,analysis and research about the Mongolian music of Ordos.The article mainly focused on four angles:melody,rhythm,religious music,musical instruments and score.The translator strives to maintain the original appearance of translation,in which some essential parts are explained,analyze,and comment accordingly.
