The Path and Dilemma of Feminist Communication between China and the West since the New Period

中西方女性主义已经有一个多世纪的交流历史,中国女权运动曾经是国际女权运动的一部分,中国也曾鼓舞甚至启发过西方女性主义运动。自新时期中西方女性主义恢复交流以来,中国学者经过一番身份认同的困惑与挣扎之后最终以开放的姿态迎接西方女性主义,但没有受到西方女性主义者的同等对待。由于中国在国际女性主义领域话语权的相对缺失,中国女性在自身解放过程中的主体性和能动性被严重低估,导致中国女性形象持续被贬抑、被扭曲。解决这一问题的对策是积极组织和参与相关国际文化交流活动,在国际文化市场上加强相关内容的传播,努力打造同时具有民族性和普适性的女性主义理论和性别理论。

Chinese and Western feminism has a history of exchanges for more than a century.The Chinese feminist movement was once part of the international feminist movement.China has also encouraged and even inspired the Western feminist movement.Since the resumption of exchanges between Chinese and Western feminism in the new era,Chinese scholars have finally embraced Western feminism with an open attitude after being confused and struggling with identity,but they have not been treated equally by Western feminists.Due to the relative lack of discourse power in the field of international feminism in China,the subjectivity and initiative of Chinese women in their own liberation process are seriously underestimated,leading to the continued depreciation and distortion of Chinese women’s image.The solution to this problem is to actively organize and participate in relevant international cultural exchange activities,strengthen the dissemination of relevant content in the international cultural market,and strive to create feminist theory and gender theory with both nationality and universality.
