Research on Salt Smuggling and Government Regulation in Three Gorges of Song Dynasty

宋代三峡地区作为重要的井盐产地,政府为垄断盐利,在食盐专卖、盐价、盐课等方面制定的诸多政策严重阻碍了民间食盐需求,刺激了民间偷开私井、贩卖私盐。为稳定食盐管理秩序,政府在盐法、盐售、盐课、盐井整顿等方面进行了一系列调控措施,对降低民间食盐走私及缓和社会矛盾具有积极作用。

The Three Gorges area was an important well salt producing area in Song Dynasty.In order to monopolize salt profits,the government formulated many policies such as salt monopoly and raised the salt price and salt tax.Without enough salt,the folks need to dig private wells and sell private salt.In order to stabilize the salt management order,the government had carried out a series of measures in salt law,salt sale,salt tax,salt well regulation and so on,which played a positive role in reducing the salt smuggling and alleviating social contradictions.
