Scholars in the Korean Dynasty attached great importance to two Chinese classics:Zhou Yi and Shang Shu.They not only used the text of the Zhou Yi,its divinatory interpretations, and its vocabularies and terminologies to explain the Shang Shu,but also appropriated its conception of the Supreme Ultimate,of Yin and Yang as well as the Five Elements, and of Hexagrams and the lines in the eight diagrams. This study takes Classical Books of Korea as an example to illustrate this phenomenon through tracing its origin, classifications and charts, and finally establishes that it is a unique mode of interpreting the Chinese classics by means of annotating the Shang Shu with the Zhou Yi.
