Brick carving refers to carving humanities,landscapes,and other patterns on blue bricks with tools.Its art form is mostly used to decorate components and walls of buildings such as burial chambers,temples,and residential buildings.It is exquisite,delicate,lively,and full of scholar's style.As the main genre of brick carving,Huizhou brick carving is a traditional carving technique of Hui style,which is widely used in Hui style gates,door covers,window covers,etc.,thus making the building more three-dimensional and highlighting its solemnity.While explaining the history of Huizhou brick carving,the article explores its artistic characteristics and development status,so as to active ly draw the essence of traditional culture,hoping to inherit and carry forward Huizhou brick carving art,research and develop new brick carving art suitable for contemporary society.
