摘要
本文将Langacker的入场理论拓展到when-构式层面,探究when-复合句的入场路径和认知识解。入场元素when具有多义性,既表时间关系,也表条件、因果、让步和体范畴关系。研究发现,表时间、条件、因果、让步关系时,when处理状语分句入场,勾画主句为焦点的认知场景;表体范畴时,when处理并列分句入场,勾画主从句显面共存的认知场景。构式压制保证了复合结构层次上的主句显面,同时对显面决定体的辖域起着约束作用。
This paper attempts to extend the Grounding Theory to when-construction,and probes into the cognitive ground of when-clause.When is a polysemous grounding element denoting temporal,conditional,cause-result,concessive relations and tense.It is found that when indicating temporal,conditional,cause-result and concessive relations,when grounds adverbial clauses,and constructs a cognitive scene with main clause as the figure and subordinate clause as the ground;when indicating tense,when grounds coordinate clauses,and constructs a cognitive scene with two figures.The paper points out that construction coercion not only guarantees the prominence of main clauses,but also limits the scope of prominence determiners.
