Since the pre-Qin and Han dynasties,Shandong has always an im portant source of supply for China's West-East trade,and one of the sources of the Silk Road.So far,there are still many silk streets,satin streets,porcelain streets,etc.gradually developing in reliance upon the Silk Road in all parts of Shandong.
