On the stages of“the history of Chinese drama since the founding of PRC in 1949”

综合政治、文化、艺术等各方面原因,新中国成立70年的戏曲史可以分为四个时期:第一期:1949—1966年,可称“新旧交替期”;第二期:1966—1978年,是当代戏曲的“畸变与艰难探索期”。当代戏曲在这段时间内所完成的,其实是整体畸变状态下,在单一主题和逼仄题材空间里的艰难探索;第三期:1978—2001年,是当代戏曲的“回归和初步复苏期”;第四期:2001—2019年,系“全面恢复及持续繁荣期”。70年的中国戏曲走过的,其实是一条颠簸的“回归”之路。这种回归在两个特殊节点显现得尤其突出:一是自1978年开始,戏曲向着戏曲艺术本体回归;二是自2001年开始,戏曲文化属性得到再度确认。

Considering such factors as politics,culture and art,the history of Chinese drama in the 70 years after the founding of the People’s Republic of China can be divided into four periods:The first period is from 1949 to 1966,which can be called“the period between the new and the old”;The second period is from 1966 to 1978,which can be referred to as the“distortion and difficult exploration period”of contemporary drama.What the contemporary drama has been accomplished in this period of time is actually a difficult exploration with only single and narrow theme allowed in the state of overall distortion.The third period,from 1978 to 2001,is the“return and preliminary recovery period”of contemporary drama.The fourth period from 2001 to 2019 is a period of“full recovery and sustained prosperity”.Chinese drama has been on a bumpy road of“return”.This kind of“return”is particularly prominent in two special facets:First,since 1978,the drama has returned to the drama art itself.Second,since 2001,the cultural attributes of drama have been reconfirmed.
